Mood8 is built so you can understand yourself without giving anything away. This page is the short, honest version of how we handle your data.
What Mood8 stores
- Your name, chosen identities, focus areas, and chronotype.
- Mood / energy / focus check-ins you log.
- Routines and habits you create and your logs of completing them.
- Reflections, AI chat messages, and insights generated for you.
All of this is stored locally on your device via Hive. Mood8 does not have user accounts yet, and nothing leaves your device unless you explicitly use the Coach.
When data goes to a server
The AI Coach features (reflections, chat, insight explanations, weekly
narrative) send the relevant snapshot of your data to
mood8.app/api, which forwards a prompt to a third-party
language model (ChatGPT / Claude) and returns the reply. We do not
retain those requests beyond what is needed to serve the response.
What Mood8 does not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share it with advertisers or third parties.
- We do not use it to train models.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Your controls
- Export a full JSON or CSV of everything in Settings → Data & Privacy.
- Delete everything from the same screen.
- Disable AI features in Settings → AI Coach.
